Leak Detection

A Quick Home Leak Checklist

Water leaks are easier to fix when they're small. Use this simple walkthrough a few times a year to catch issues before they become expensive repairs.

Kitchen

  • Look under the sink for moisture, stains, or soft cabinet bottoms.
  • Check around the dishwasher and refrigerator for puddles or warped flooring.
  • Listen for hissing sounds that could indicate a supply line issue.

Bathrooms

  • Inspect around toilets for movement, soft flooring, or discoloration.
  • Check under vanities for slow drips from supply lines or traps.
  • Look for peeling paint or bubbling texture on walls and ceilings below bathrooms.

Water heater, laundry & exterior

  • Inspect around the water heater for rust, dampness, or active drips.
  • Check washing machine hoses for bulges or cracking.
  • Walk the exterior of your home looking for wet spots, sinkholes, or unusually green patches of grass.
